2026 has been busy!
The short version: I became an apprentice, I learned new things, and I had some fun camping.
Long version: Well, buckle up.
To start, we need to take a quick trip back to October of 2025. Crown list, to be exact, HE Angel gave her answer to Simon and Aria on their offer of admission to the Order of the Lural.
She wasted no time in asking if I would consider being her student. Surprised but pleased, I said yes, and we set Candlemass the following February to officially take her belt. We have had some giggles realizing one of my first events was her stepping up to be Baroness; she also had been the judge on one of my first A&S entries.
Learning new things has been ongoing. From calligraphy to new illuminations, sewing, and some adventures to southern events. I have done many new scrolls from my normal 5×7 down to playing card size. Embroidered a whole sweets bag for KAOS. Mending old garb and giving it a facelift. Started a new jacket and got some pretty trim.
Camping has been an adventure. Battlemoor saw a new site after the bear incident. (This site I can see from my house.) But that whole adventure really deserves a post of its own. Gerkin’ got a new site as well, and camping on flat, level ground is AMAZING. My kiddo and I road-tripped to White Sands and Kingdom A&S not with tents but utilizing our car to camp. Well worth it, as we found some amazing places to visit even if the World’s Largest Pastachio wasn’t on his bingo card.
There is some camping left to happen this season if the weather holds and more A&S, and for sure some shenanigans.
Hopefully with the kids back in school, I can take some time to catch this blog up and post other adventures and a fun A&S project!
